Our UK Programmes

The GFG Foundation currently works collaboratively with other Not For Profits and GFG Alliance companies in both supporting and delivering a wealth of different programmes, for example visiting schools to talk about engineering, or supporting science festivals such as in Edinburgh.

The GFG Foundation is currently adopting existing local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes run by GFG Alliance companies. You can read more about these programmes in the ‘our locations’ area of this website.

Industrial Cadets

The GFG Foundation is proud to develop its first national partnership with the highly acclaimed Industrial Cadets programme, inspired by HRH The Prince of Wales, managed by the Engineering Development Trust (EDT) and delivered by GFG Alliance company staff and volunteers. The Industrial Cadets programme delivers activities with 9-21 year olds in schools and the workplace, aiming to provide high quality accredited STEM skills development (Science, technology, engineering and maths). The partnership between the GFG Foundation and EDT will help with the development of 4000 young people over the three years of 2017-2020.

Rewise Learning

In partnership with Rewise Learning, over 100 young people have taken part in a ‘Geared up for STEM’ workshop in Newport, South Wales.

Students were tasked with building and coding a remote-control car, with assistance from mentors from the nearby LIBERTY Steel site, which is part of the GFG Alliance.

The GFG Foundation also provides a number of student scholarships by working in partnership with the following organisations:
